The Bathurst Winter Festival has become a marquee event and a popular shared experience for many Bathurst locals. It has established itself as a must do event with friends and family and breaks up a long winter in our city.
The 2020 Bathurst Winter Festival will be held from 4 – 19 July 2020 across the two weeks of the school holidays. Whilst the Winter Festival will look quite different this year, Bathurst will still come together to celebrate by feasting on regional food, listening to online music gigs from local artists and immersing in the magic illumination light display. The biggest change for 2020 is the removal of the Winter Playground including the McDonald’s Bathurst Ice Rink which has been replaced with a Drive in Cinema brought to you by McDonald’s Bathurst at Mount Panorama.
In order to adapt to the current health and safety recommendations issued by NSW Health, the Winter Festival will be tailored to social distancing measures with some festival experiences enjoyed from the comfort of your own home or in the warmth of your own car. We ask that when participating in activities, people maintain social distancing and do not attend any activity if feeling unwell or experiencing flu like symptoms.
The theme for this year’s festival is “Experience it Differently” with a combination of both online and physical experiences. The festival supports local businesses and the local entertainment industry as well as ensuring the community feels connected and the spirit of the Winter Festival is kept alive.
